*To contact members for luncheon reservations and other pertinent information  concerning the Association
*To confirm the reservation number to the luncheon provider

Community Service
*To identify community needs and develop programs and projects that contribute to  the community
*To provide a positive image of retirement by actively demonstrating that retired  teachers are a valuable community resource

IRTA Membership
*To obtain and distribute IRTA Membership information as needed
*To contact teachers, administrators, and friends of education in Vigo County to  promote the benefits of Association Membership in IRTA

Legislative
*To recommend such legislative measures to the Executive Advisory Board and to  the Association as shall, in its judgment, promote the best intent of the membership
*To inform the membership of pending legislation that affects retired teachers

*To convey to state legislators the positions taken by the Association on such  legislation in a non-partisan manner

Membership
*To maintain membership contact information for the Association
*To collect dues

Necrology
*To maintain a record of deceased current members
*To present a memorial service for those members at a meeting of the Association
*To provide IRTA a list of deceased members as needed


Publicity and Historical Records
*To serve all publicity needs of the Association through the media
*To develop and maintain a current history of the VCRTA

Retirement Planning
*To contact teachers in Vigo County prior to their retirement to acquaint them with  the Association, its purposes, and its benefits
*To provide essential information to active teachers who are planning their retirement  including knowledge concerning state pensions
